Situated on top of a hill, Todi strategically dominates the Tiber-valley. The city was an important centre between the Etruscan and the Umbrian civilizations. Todi is the home-town of Jacopone, a franciscan poet considered one of the fathers of Italian language.

The main square of Todi in the Christmas period is divided into two sections: on one side you can skite under the big Christmas tree, among flower decorations and wood bridges along the ice pathway (over 3.5 km long), whereas on the other side the Christmas paths are going to recreate a wonderful garden made of wood, hills, small lakes and Christmas trees, among shows and live-music, tastings and mulled wine
